After spending several weeks at the intensive care unit of a South African hospital, Nelson Mandela the Papa Africa, has finally returned home to his big family. What a relief!

Last week, his condition was described by the federal government as “critical but stable”. He finally came out of the stress and doctor's say he is now better than before, hence he was discharged.

The Senate yesterday Wednesday June 5th dropped the controversial African First Ladies’ Peace Mission House project when it passed the N259.65bn budget of the Federal Capital Territory for the 2013 fiscal year without approving the N4bn appropriated for it.

The Teen Choice Awards were this past weekend, and a plethora of teen idols came out to be adored and awarded for being cool to teenagers (or something like that.)  Stars have always tended to dress a little edgier for this occasion, given that this awards show has a looser and more casual vibe than that of the Emmys, Golden Globes, and Oscars.  Some stars, however, seem to have taken that freedom-of-fashion-expression to a level that just seemed a bit too sexy for the likes of the Teen Choice Awards.  I mean, the only people who vote for and/or watch this show are a bunch of 12+ yrs olds, so forgive me if I would not be so thrilled for my pre-teen to watch and think, “I will be cool and boys will like me if I show as much midriff as that sexy girl on Glee does!”

UN inspectors leave Syria as US weighs 'limited act'

UN inspectors investigating the alleged use of chemical weapons in Syria have left Damascus. 

They crossed into neighbouring Lebanon just hours after President Barack Obama said the US was considering a "limited narrow act" against Syria.

Citing a US intelligence assessment, Secretary of State John Kerry accused Syria of using chemical weapons to kill 1,429 people, including 426 children.

Syria said the US claim was "full of lies", blaming rebels for the attacks.
The UN inspectors - investigating what happened in the Damascus suburbs on 21 August - left their hotel in the Syrian capital in a convoy of vehicles on Saturday morning and later arrived in Lebanon.

During their visit, they carried out four days of inspections.
It could be two weeks before their final report is ready, UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon has told diplomats.

Lamar Odom was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence (DUI) early Friday morning in California, TMZ is reporting.
The NBA player was pulled over by the California Highway Patrol on a freeway in the San Fernando Valley for driving too slowly at 3:54 a.m. on Aug. 30, according to TMZ.
CHP officials told the Los Angeles Times that Odom was spotted early Friday morning driving a white Mercedes SUV in a "serpentine manner" around 50 mph. Authorities attempted to pull him over, but he kept driving. When they eventually stopped him, Odom showed "objective signs of intoxication and was unable to perform field sobriety tests as explained and demonstrated."
Odom was arrested on suspicion of DUI and taken to jail in Van Nuys. He refused all chemical tests, the Los Angeles Times reported.
