Arsenal will be back in the market for a new striker once again during the January transfer window and will continue to monitor Luis Suarez at Liverpool.
That’s according to a report today in the Daily Mirror although the truth is that the Uruguay international will be just as difficult to prise away from Anfield in January as he was this summer.
Liverpool made clear their determination to hang on to Suarez and their resolve is unlikely to weaken in the January transfer window when replacements are even more difficult to come by.
The Gunners failed in a deadline-day loan move for Demba Ba from Chelsea but the likelihood is that they will make a move to sign a player on a permanent basis either in January or next summer.
As Arsenal found this summer, top-rated strikers are a rarity, but Arsene Wenger pulled off a coup when he signed Mesut Ozil and he did that by outlining his vision for the club. A good first half of the season in which the club are in touch with the Premier League title leaders will go some way to making it easier to recruit new talent. But it is doubtful whether that player will be Suarez.
